The Washingtonia palm (or Mexican fan palm) is a very common plant species in the Mediterranean region and in Valencia.

It is a palm tree with a robust, slender, and simple trunk that can reach up to 35 meters in height. The trunk is thicker at the base and covered by the remnants of dried leaves. It features fan-shaped leaves that have long, white threads when young, which disappear as the palm ages.
