Oporto II
Ceramics, Raku technique, 12 x 4 x 4.5 cm
This work originates from the same process of searching as its technical counterpart, Oporto I, an experiment where nature, form, and the natural processes of ceramic firing engage in a dialogue.
technical data
Raku, 楽焼 (raku-yaki), refers to both the technique and a type of traditional Japanese pottery. The glazes (oxides) with which the pieces have been painted provide part of the oxygen for this combustion, transforming into pure metal, which gives this ceramic its characteristic appearance.
