This is the second piece in a series carved from Santanyí stone, known locally as Marés de Porreras. These stones, born from the sea, even evoke its saline aroma when worked. This Mallorcan limestone stands out for its technical superiority: light and porous, with a low water absorption rate and a compressive strength that doubles that of other marés in the region. These qualities explain the clear preference of the ancient masters, who employed it in emblematic public buildings such as the Lonja de Palma.
